Sally MacCabe - Workshops

Sally MacCabe - Workshops

My workshops are for just 1 or 2 adults, ensuring very personal tuition and no previous experience is necessary. There are no fixed dates - the workshops are very much tailor made for individuals and so you are able to request any date/day that you think would suit you best and I just check in my personal diary that it’s a day I can manage! If you would like to make a booking, please contact me using the details below.

Full Day: 10am-4pm

Includes all materials, full cooked lunch with wine, coffee, tea and biscuits - £120

Half Day: 10am-1pm or 1pm-4pm

Includes all materials, coffee, tea and biscuits - £50

Mixed Media Painting
Full Day – £120
Half Day – £50

During the morning you will be shown a simple technique to create an abstract design to interpret onto a canvas or board. Using collaged papers, mixed media and experimental techniques you will be able to complete a textured abstract painting.

Concertina Book
Half Day – £50

Using heavy duty watercolour paper, we will produce a folded accordion style book which will be worked onto with collaged papers, pastels, paints and inks, creating apertures and flaps and even simple stitching if required. An experimental and textured way of working will be encouraged!

Full Day – £120

We will start by producing a variety of exciting papers using a simple mono-printing technique with acrylics. You will be shown samples of various book structures and we will then produce simple stitched books that will be worked into using your papers, together with various mixed media techniques, lettering, collage etc. Your book can be based on a personal theme if wanted.

Treasure Boxes
Full Day – £120

You will be given a small wooden box to decorate on a chosen theme. We will then produce various cards, booklets, montages, display boards etc to fit inside your box. You may like to bring some personal ephemera with you to include in this artwork – Sally will be happy to discuss this with you before you come.

Full Day – £120

Using a selection of silks, calico and cottons we will produce a small sample of hand stitched appliqué, following the ‘slow stitch’ approach to embroidery. Referring to many samples, you will be shown how to produce a small stitched panel, hanging or pocketbook. Instructions will be given on the basic stitch techniques required.

All workshops are held in Sally’s working studio, nestled at the bottom of her garden in St Ives.
